Carthusia Gelsomini di Capri

by the gorgeous, tanned, toned TOM!

I am very happy with the area in which I live.  We have great weather without (mostly) histrionic highs or lows.  The lowest lows I’ve had here brought flurries to Bel-Air which were greeted with a rather childish joy by the city.  The highest high was a dreadful 116 (well, that was the temp is was when the Official Thermometer broke) was greeted less kindly, but made the drop the next day to 100 seem Arctic by comparison.

What I suppose I’m saying in my rambly way is that I don’t necessarily need to be transported by perfume.  When I find one that does however I love the ride.

Especially if the ride is this nice.

I’ve never been to Capri (for that matter I’ve never been to Europe) but if it smells anything like this it is on my bucket list with a bullet.  It’s a wholly perfect jasmine: brightened by geranium, warmed with clove and made indolic with ylang-ylang.  This part would be quite enough on its own, but then there’s a dash of rose, woods and a lovely musky amber that makes me feel like I should be sitting on a terrace in the Marina Piccola leisurely sipping a Negroni, wearing white linen and deciding where my late dinner would be, and with which handsome, tanned, dark-eyed stranger.

Gelsomini di Capri is $130 for 50ML, which is far cheaper than that vacation to Italy and the full-body lipo I would require to pull of the look.  My sample was from LuckyScent.

Just how bright a jasmine are we talking about here? I like ’em dirty. The jasmines, I mean, not my strangers, just to be clear. :o)

  • AnnieA says:

Has anyone been to Capri? I would love to know whether anyone actually wears capris there…

  • Musette says:

    Tom,

How would you compare it to Seplasia (Bruno Acampora) another ‘Capri’ scent?

    xo >-)

btw – I love your Capri fantasy! I’ll be at the next table, okay?

  • Ann says:

Oooh, Tom, sounds divine! I’m all for anything that can transport me to Capri! I’ve always wanted to go there, and also to Lake Como. Maybe one day …
