Guerlain: Bee Bottle 160 Years: Creating the Art Exhibition: Mini Movie

Hello Posse Peeps, Portia from Australian Perfume Junkies bringing you one of the most magical and inspirational pieces of art creation I’ve yet seen. In honour of the Bee Bottle 160 Years it seems Guerlain  has ordered artists to create extraordinary sets for their masterpiece in crystal and gold. These are some of the most gorgeous, boundary pushing, and innovative pieces I’ve seen in a long time. Exquisitely crafted by some of the world’s best. The Bee Bottle 160 years will make your eyes pop. One day I plan to own one, maybe I’ll host a split so I don’t have to foot the whole bill.

If I were to buy a Bee Bottle, what would you have me buy? What would you want in yours? Imagine you had no money constraints and any fragrance from the Guerlain line, from any era could be in your bottle, what would you wish for?
Do please enjoy.

These are absolutely stunning and how satisfying it must be to create art like this. I would count myself lucky to have any of them, but the rose and art deco pieces were my favorites. As to what perfume I’d include in the bottle, I think I’d ask the designer which was was their favorite since they created the masterpiece that houses it. I’d like the bottle and the perfume in it to be their complete design. Thanks so much for sharing this piece!

  • solanace says:

I want them all – how could I choose? – but the Vétiver one in the picture would be super ‘useful’, since I adore the scent but the ordinary bottle is not girly enough for me…

  • thinkingmagpie says:

Awww, I love to have those bottles!! It’s so difficult to choose… maybe Vol de Nuit or Chamade. 🙂

  • SallyM says:

Absolutely stunning. I want them all, ALL I say! I would be hard pressed to choose between the rose and the feather, but as I used to work with leather and feathers, I would say that one would probably have the edge. But as money is no object I’d fill the rose with vintage Chamade and the feathers with vintage Liu.
Thanks for posting this amazing video Portia – are you home yet??

  • Ann says:

Oh, my, Portia! They are all so beautiful — how could you ever choose? So since this is a fantasy, I’d just take the one that came with vintage Mitsouko parfum in it (since I’ve recently come around to her beauty). Thanks for sharing this! BTW, anyone know how much these cost? (I know, I know, if you have to ask, you can’t afford it, but I knew that from the start; I’m just curious).

    • Hey Ann,
I wanted a 250ml bee bottle of Mon Precioux Nectar and it was going for around 1300 Euro I think. Clearly I left it on the shelf and grabbed a 125ml mini bee bottle for decidedly less.

  • Alison says:

Original Chamade, as I remember it from the ’70s, in the feather bottle!

  • einsof says:

Eau de Guerlain or Eau de Coq !!! just classic. what else can you say? *laugh*

  • tammy says:

I have heard of the infamous Bee Bottle, but I am not a Guerly-girl, so I never paid it much mind til this video…..MY WORD at the beautiful! Wow.

The only Guerlain I really love is Vol de Nuit but it has its own stunning bottle, as does Shalimar, which I like though not love, so I’d choose Chamade or Nahema.

Thanks so much for sharing this!

  • Martha says:

I vote for either Vol de Nuit or Shalimar. That bottle is stunning!

  • Sarah K says:

It’s a beauty. I can’t decide between Chamade or Vol de Nuit for what should go in it.

  • zazie says:

Too much eye candy! I’m swooning!
Besides the beauty of the creations and the lust-effect of all things Guerlain, I was really bewitched by the work of the artisans.
I think I really envy those who do things-with-their-hands for a living… The satisfaction one feels in creating a beautiful object!
Anyway. I have many favorites: the feather, the straw, the leather and the art deco interpretations… Well ok, I’ll choose the straw.
What to put inside my bottle? Past present future? Please, I cannot choose. I have so many Guerlains yet to smell before committing. But if forced, I’ll put Shalimar in the straw-lined box, and Chamade in the one with feathers!
