SOTD 10.4.2020

A SOTD (Scent Of The Day) thread is a really good conversation generator. The idea is you’ll chime in through the week with whatever scent you are wearing. You don’t need to be super knowledgable, have high faluting tastes or be a published author to comment. Just tell us what fragrance you’re wearing, smelling, buying etc. and how it makes you feel and/or anything else about it that tickles your fancy.

You can also comment on everyone else SOTD choices too. It’s great to tell someone how much you love their choice, ask for more info about it, the house or perfumer. There’s someone here from around the world 24/7 and Perfume Posse people love to chat. We like to keep it fragrant but there’s always room for life events and adventures too. This is our place to share how we smell, live, love, eat, work, raise kids and pets and get on with the business of living.

Perfume Posse SOTD

SOTD 10.4.2020

You probably won’t have time to write every scent, every spritz. Whenever you feel the mood take you, share your current spritz and a few things about it. Maybe you love/loathe it, want it, are excited by the notes/bottle/SA who sold it: WHATEVER! As always here at Perfume Posse, taking sides never means taking offence and everyone keeps it respectful and light, even though we can sometimes trawl the depths.

Hopefully you will come back and see if anyone has responded to your SOTD comment. Then you can reply to them, and so on.

Go To It Crew.

Enjoying my Lumberjack Cologne by Stranger’s Perfumerie. It’s all cedary, lemony, and woodsy.

Oh and I have also been using the heck out of the Nivea tin that pl67 sent for my birthday as it’s an amazing hand cream and it’s the smell of my childhood. I really wish I had access to the EDT or a scent mule. And I really DO miss our APJ gang ( Cassie, back me up here! Lol 🙂 )

In a cloud of loveliness today, back in the office but my little box of samples from LKNU arrived. Insert happy dance. Wearing Maxed Out (4160 Tues) and Lumberjack (Strangers) left hand and arm. Right hard side – Interdit Absente (Daniel Josier) and Dodo (Zoologist)
Maxed Out & Lumberjack not what i expected – both quite lovely and ‘green’. Think i was expecting big, woodsy scents. Later I will have to double check the notes.
Have a few others to report on another day.

Yesterday was a more generous than usual helping of PdN’s SacreBlue… man that was fun, that one really changes over time and smells so good. Today I’m basking in orange blossom, Serge Lutens on one side and lots of Commodity Nector/Neroli on the other.

Struggling a bit today, feet & heart are heavy – hoping Desert Marocain will keep me from getting too low.
Maybe if the post gets through today , a little blind buy of Joop Le Bain might bring a smile.

Happy Easter everyone. I wore one of my absolute favourites Un Lys today. Seemed like lily was the way to go. I huffed my wrists and then my Easter lily and then my wrist and then the plant all day.

I am wearing Osmanthus Interdite today, a light floral with the tiniest hint of leather. I’m happy to have a decant, but this does not last well on my skin, so wouldn’t buy a full bottle. Anyway, it seems I stick with the true and tested favourites of mine these days, even if I’m fine with the restrictions we live under (just hope they won’t be necessary for many months).

Wearing La Fille de Berlin today. It sort of fits my mood. Somewhat moody, even gloomy name, but utterly cheerful scent. Which means what? That I am worried about the world, but myself quite happy to work from home, hang out with my person and the cats, and have Zoom conversations with dear friends who live too far away to see as much as I want.

Wearing L’Heure Exquise. Usually when I work at home I pull out the big guns, but my reaction has been to wear pretty spring scents, sometimes changing it up later in the day.

I am wearing Guerlain AA Mandarine Basilic. It is one one of three scents I have available. I am visiting my father during part of Easter, we celebrated his birthday two days ago. It felt important to go here and it is good to be in a house with a large garden. I would not have travelled had nobody been able to drive me. I’m still feeling unsure about public transport, especially in and around Oslo.

Mandarine Basilic is a long time favourite of mine, especially in the summer. Is Norway not in lockdown?

Ingeborg

Reply to  SonomaVelvet

Not complete lockdown in Norway. But we’re not allowed to visit cabins/ summer houses and all pubs and most restaurants are closed, as well as many shops, all hairdressers, schools and universities. We figured going away to our very closest family was okay, it even felt essential after self-isolating since March 12, more or less. We don’t meet up with friends now, only online, FaceTime and so on. My employer has told me we will keep on working from home for some time after Easter. We have more restrictions on movement and personal freedom now than we have ever had since 1945. Unemployment is also like in the hard 30s.

I know it’s good Friday today but it feels an awful lot like all the other days. I’m still working online as if it were any other day. But the sun is shining and it’s warmed up a bit so I’m going to go for my walk and enjoy the several sprays of Iris Poudre I’ve got going. MMMMMMmmmmm Thank you Frederic Malle

Gearing up with my home sewn mask to go to the grocery store. I’m testing a couple of Bonds – High line and Greenwich Village from a handful of samples a friend gave me. high line is ok if not terribly interesting green; not a fan of GV – something I don’t like in there. Later today I’m going to wear Insolence edp.
