SOTD 11.12.2020

A SOTD (Scent Of The Day) thread is a really good conversation generator. The idea is you’ll chime in through the week with whatever scent you are wearing. You don’t need to be super knowledgable, have high faluting tastes or be a published author to comment. Just tell us what fragrance you’re wearing, smelling, buying etc. and how it makes you feel and/or anything else about it that tickles your fancy.

You can also comment on everyone else SOTD choices too. It’s great to tell someone how much you love their choice, ask for more info about it, the house or perfumer. There’s someone here from around the world 24/7 and Perfume Posse people love to chat. We like to keep it fragrant but there’s always room for life events and adventures too. This is our place to share how we smell, live, love, eat, work, raise kids and pets and get on with the business of living.

Perfume Posse SOTD

SOTD 11.12.2020

You probably won’t have time to write every scent, every spritz. Whenever you feel the mood take you, share your current spritz and a few things about it. Maybe you love/loathe it, want it, are excited by the notes/bottle/SA who sold it: WHATEVER! As always here at Perfume Posse, taking sides never means taking offence and everyone keeps it respectful and light, even though we can sometimes trawl the depths.

Hopefully you will come back and see if anyone has responded to your SOTD comment. Then you can reply to them, and so on.

Go To It Crew.

Liz Zorn’s White Gardenia Absolute Oil while I divvy up the Chanukah, Christmas, and birthday gifts for my December-born preschooler. She’s been acting spoiled just with the Advent and Chanukah gifts (I don’t want clothes!) Advice welcome, if not taken 😉

And ugh. The house. I need a house fairy.

Inspired by Cinnamon’s post, I’m wearing Aroon Sawat by Strangers Parfumerie .I get an orangey spicy vibe.

  • Cassieflower says:

Anima Dulcis. Needs a reapplication as I burn this off rather quickly.

  • Portia says:

Today we have the Steam Carpet Cleaner coming. Getting EVERYTHING off the floor has been a major event. I’m sweating like a farm hand.
Keeping it all gorgeously unreal with CHANEL Coromandel EdT. LOADS of it.

ELdO Fin du Monde. Weird but also kind of wonderful. I find it hard to pick out any individual note but enjoy wearing it very much.

    • Melanie says:

House twins with you – I’ve gone for Marquis de Sade. Suiting the little bit of humidity hanging around. All woodsy and pine.

  • Melanie says:

Sunday be like Zoologist Dodo left wrist – fresh little green, musky amber. Sloth on the right – dirt/hay, spices and tonka or vanilla.

  • Portia says:

    Cartier II.
Fruity snow cones and powder. MMMMMM

  • NancyC says:

Philosophy Fresh Cream Soft Suede. The first couple of times I wore this, there was a teensy bit of a harsh note in it, but I don’t detect it anymore. It’s a 15ml bottle, so cute, and I might think it before the end of the year.

    Chanel No. 5
Pouring rain, baked a substandard apple tart, looking forward to lots of wine and decorating the Christmas tree just as soon as the rain lets up enough to procure it.

  • Portia says:

This afternoon/evening I had ELdO Spice Must Flow on. All rose, oudh and incense.
Now I’ve layered Lolita Lempicka EdP over the top to be a part of NST Violet Friday Community Project.
    WOW! Smells fabulous.

Diptyque’s Eau Capitale, an air of innocent luxury.

  • Musette says:

I dunno… feeling a little skritchy this am (no reason – just ‘me’) and I think I need to get out of town for a hot minute (again, no reason) – maybe… I dunno… Donna Karan Gold? I was going to wear Mitsouko but I’m afraid I might bludgeon someone (or She will) xoxoxo

  • Cassieflower says:

First Cut. Brigitte’s gonna LOVE me.

  • Ann says:

Wearing Sylvaine Delacorte Florentina – smelling a lot like Dovana to me this morning, soft musk, powder and some almond – I read it was meant to be a tribute to L’Huere Bleu, I’m not getting a lot of purple flowers right now, but it’s certainly something pretty.
