Isabey Gardenia

Hey there Posse! Yes, I’m still sampling up a storm over here in Sydney. This week I’ve grabbed out Isabey Gardenia. I love the brand and have a nearly empty travel of Tendre Nuit and an original FB of Fleur Nocturne bought in the panic of bottle changeover. I find their work subtle but textured. Easy wear magnificence that never overpowers. These are beautiful fragrances that won’t wear you but will augment your lovely self. Game lifters that change the air around you just enough so that you stand out but not enough to screech. A fine line they walk beautifully.

If you are only ever after weird assed funk and arty crescendos then you might as well scroll by now. Isabey makes luxurious, smooth, finished perfumes. Made for people who want to smell good. That perfectly shaded blending, slow, relaxed changes in the fragrances lifespan.

Isabey Gardenia

Isabey Gardenia

Parfumo gives these featured accords:
Top: Orange blossom, Tangerine, Ylang-ylang
Heart: Gardenia, Iris, Jasmine, Rose
Base: Musk, Sandalwood, Ambergris

While nothing compares to sticking your nose into a gardenia flower in real life, Isabey Gardenia is a beautifully reminiscent dream of what it’s like. That super ripe fruit and hardcore white floral is so close to my memory of the smell. A cleaner, less polluted and fetid smell than a real life gardenia.

Maintained gloriously through the heart until Isabey Gardenia starts to move toward a more floral bouquet. Thick and luscious and so dreamy, I find myself happily swooning as I sit at my desk and write to you. Imagining how fabulous i would smell wearing this on a night out, to events or even on holidays somewhere warm and tropical. It’s that kind of scent. My mind is telling me that if I buy this bottle it will be my go-to for every grand occasion. It’s so beautifully luxurious I’m almost believing myself.

Isabey Gardenia

As we head towards dry down the base of Isabey Gardenia is like a sideways sister to Guerlain Mahora. They ylang and sandalwood combo done in the creamy glam style are similar but not same. Nice to clock a fragrant link though.

This is a big, statement fragrance leaning towards modern traditional femme but SO wearable by the boys. Give it a whirl, I dare you! Longevity and projection are excellent. People will definitely notice.

Where would you wear Isabey Gardenia?

I love to keep following. My opinion is that box printing gives classy look to the product.

  • Tara C says:

The only one I have is Tendre Nuit, but I have sampled others and the line is very pretty and easy to wear.

These (and this) sound so good. Went looking for samples and the one place here that has the line is out of stock on Gardenia. Will just have to wait till it comes back in.

Jeebus, babydoll! I hate you SO MUCH! 😉
Okay – I LUH you SO MUCH. But you now have me craving this. I love ‘smelling good’ – not really ever one for screechy-interesting (I’m not that avant-garde, alas). And I do love a BWF, especially gardenias. I would wear the living daylights out of this.

I adore Isabey perfumes, and I appreciate your spot on review of Isabey Gardenia. I would wear it for any occasion or anytime just because it smells so wonderful. I also have travel sprays of Fleurs Nocturnes and Tender Nuit, equally lovely. The bottles are hefty and gorgeous.

      Hey Kathleen,
      YAY! Another Isabey fan.
You know, as I go through my Tendre Nuit travel I’m looking at the Isabey travel Set. It’s very reasonably priced and I do love the 15ml sizes too.

I love Isabey Gardenia! I think of it as a “happy” gardenia for all the reasons you mention; some gardenia frags feel more … moody to me? Not in a bad way. Sometimes we want something more dramatic, or melancholy; sometimes we don’t! And I’ve made a fair dent in that Tendre Nuit you made me buy!
