Vintage Bloom Shower Gel by Jessica Simpson

Hi there Posse. I think most of you know I am a bath person. Even in summer I love to jump into a super hot bath and stay there till it cools, and me with it. I’ve just finished a 3oz tube of Vintage Bloom Shower Gel by Jessica Simpson. It’s not swoon worthy, unbelievably amazing or groundbreaking. It is very pretty though. What it is right now on FragranceNet is super cheap. Around US$3 with a coupon for 3oz. It does excellent bubbles too. Also, the body lotion is only about 50c more expensive.

With my latest need to economise it feels good to spurge on myself with something so affordable and usable to keep me feeling low key pampered in general. So you can rest assured I’ve grabbed myself another half dozen.

A few years ago I wrote about Tabu shower gel here on the Posse. I’m nothing if not consistent.

Vintage Bloom Shower Gel

FragranceNet gives these featured accords:
Lemon, Lime, Peony, Raspberry Bloom, Musk

See, the notes list is fairly straight up what you get. A citrus, fruity floral. Some note lists add sandalwood and I think they’re on the money. There’s definitely some creaminess in the base. While smelling lovely in the bath it dissipates rapidly after getting out and I’m left smelling clean and human.

Also, just because I use it to make bubble baths doesn’t mean it won’t be good for showers and a cheap hit of pretty to get you going.

Above is a photo of me MAYBE using too much Vintage Bloom Shower Gel in my bath recently. HA! Yes it’s too much bubble but so worth it. I had to finish the bottle because there wasn’t enough for two baths. Probably…

I used to love baths! But after two spinal fusions and increasingly severe rheumatoid arthritis, I can no longer navigate tubs. However, I LOVE scented soaps (especially from Provence) and gels, so there’s still much fun to be had.
And don’t get me started on lotions…!

    • Portia says:

WOW! You’ve been in the wars MaggieCat.
Oh yes! Since learning during the pandemic that soap denatures virus we have bars in every bathroom and the kitchen. Opening a brand new soap is always a bit of thrill. We get them from all over and in every price range.

Oh, what a FABULOUS photo! I love all those bubbles… in our long term rental in Bethesda I had the original clawfoot tub, complete with circular shower rod, which I loved and soaked in quite a bit. It’s been less glorious here, but sometimes (usually in winter) there’s nothing like a good soak. I’m now exploring all the gels/body washes suggested to me!

    • Portia says:

      Hey March,
I’ve often wondered about a claw foot tub. How hard is it to keep clean under and around?
When we did this bathroom my only major thing after the big soaking bath was that it all be super simple and easy to keep clean. Every Monday I thank our foresight when it takes me less than 20 minutes to get spotless.

I’m with you on monkey baths & me & the bath cooling. I’m with you on the bubbles too.
I need to search out more Madonna T&D as I’ve finished my last tube again.
I’m currently using Molton Brown from a bath & shower gel set from QVC. Today will be Fiery Pink Pepper. Glorious! Nothing like the fragrance.
If I can get Vintage Bloom in the UK for a good price I’ll pop it in my basket

    • Portia says:

      Heya Alityke,
Funny you should mention the Madonna. I have half a tube left on the shelf awaiting spring to get some use again. It’s SO pretty. remember when you could buy it for NOTHING!?!

Just picked up 3 tubes £7.20 for the first & £6.20 for the second & third from perfume-click. They still have stock but dunno about shipping to Oz x

I rarely take baths (and certainly not in the manky tub that was in the bathroom, which I just ripped out)… mostly because I hate the drama of Getting Out (my 19 year old niece nearly broke her 19 year old leg getting out of a slipper tub… no thanks!)

But a cheapie shower gel that smells swoony? I’m IN! (the shower)

Currently I’m using an Italian cheapie, Felce Azzura (mint – I also have iris) that a friend sent me, Rose Jam (and its jammier sister, See & Be Seen), Tree Hut Coco Colada (thanks, Tom, for the Tree Hut intro)… and obviously my vintage Chanel gel (spendy but a little dab’ll do ya so it lasts forever and stanks up the place something fabulous!)

I’m a bath fan, too. I’m loving Lush Rose Jam, Korres shower gels, and Soap & Glory right now. The Jessica Simpson sounds good. Our summer is hot and humid, so nice bath products are in demand. Thanks Portia!

    • Portia says:

      Hey DinaC,
Korres do lovely showers gels, such beautiful fragrances. Sometimes I grab them too when I see a good price.

I’m not a bath person, I have a big shower in my washroom. You have a lovely tub! However, I love a fragrant shower gel (and for good price) and will take a look for Bloom at fragrancenet. I remember when you wrote about Tabu which is a love of mine as well. xoxo

    • Portia says:

Yesterday, due to time constraints, I had a shower Kathleen. It happens so rarely, I felt like I was on holiday.
That Tabu shower gel is so gorgeous.

When I had the house refurbed I put in a huge shower — no bath. On a trip to the Maldives a number of years ago the shower had its own large room, like 5 x 8 feet in size and that’s where I wanted to be after swimming in the ocean or being out on the sundeck. There was also a bath in the bathroom but it never got used. Sorry, that was long-winded. I’ve currently got around three shower gels going and two are Faith in Nature. They smell nice (anything from grapefruit to seaweed to coconut) and here they are reasonably cheap (like £6 for 500ml).

Ooh, I am going to have to investigate this. And I am totally jealous over that tub..
