Eladaria by Creed NEW NEW NEW

Hi Crew. Last week the Creed crew asked if I’d like to try their newest, just launched, aimed at the girls fragrance Eladaria. Yes, I’m always up for trying new stuff. They also asked if I’d like to have a sample of a couple of others and I particularly asked for a sample of their new-ish Delphinus because Jin tried it and it smelled bloody wonderful on him. If it still hits the spot perfectly he may just get a bottle for his birthday later in the year. Plus Royal Mayfair 2024, I’d not even heard of this being released but LOVE the teal label, very swish.

Eladaria by Creed 2025

Eladaria by Creed

Creed gives these featured accords:
Top: Mandarin, Bergamot, Pink Pepper
Heart: Trio of Rose, Peony, Lily of the Valley, Powdery Notes
Base: Musk, Vanilla, Ambroxan, Cashmere Wood

If you’ve been a perfumista for any length of time you might remember about a decade ago, and more, how exciting a new Creed release was. The scentbloggosphere would go batshit crazy for about six months. There would be notice of new product coming, the lucky few who got pre-release samples to write about, the launches, the rest of us getting to try it and write our impressions. It was such an event. Those days have gone. So it was very nice to get an email asking if I’d like to try the new beauty, Eladaria.

My first try of the three was with my girlfriend N the other day at lunch, we were having a sneaky Japanese Pork Loin Katsu-Toji Don when she ducked out of her high powered city directors chair for a breather. The stories of her workplace are so far out of my knowledge realm. She also tells them with such relish. I think I’m the only person she knows who laughs till I cry while hearing the office politics and associated drama. These people, who are supposed to be working as a team towards best outcomes, create such havoc for themselves and each other.

You’ll note the Libertine Parfumerie sample holder. They are the importers and distributors of Creed in Australia, and buddies.

Eladaria by Creed NEW NEW NEW

So what am I smelling from these three Creeds?

Eladaria

Peony! That lovely soft as butterfly wings feeling of rubbing peonies against your cheek captured in a fragrance. The opening is a lightly fizzy florists fridge and I’m thinking there’s a burst of aldehydes adding that extra zing to the pink pepper, citrus and bouquet. Really, the flowers are only the stars for a very brief opening. It’s very enticing. They stay but become bit players as the ambroxan, cashmere and musks take center stage. Also, there is a lovely, slightly fetid undercurrent of vase water that really makes Eladaria interesting and helps it stand out from the usual base heavy with twinkles on top modern niche offerings. Dry down is that dry, bitter sweet vanilla/praline note that Pierre Guillaume has used so deftly in the past. The counterpoint of remaining greenery and this very sweet warmth is interesting and keeps my nose on its toes rill dry down in the far distant future.

Delphinus

Yeah, we did not mistake how beautiful Delphinus smells on Jin. It also smells good on me but Jin takes it to another realm. His natural smell amps the spices and patchouli over the very powdery bouquet and vanilla. While still being a sweet fragrance on him the layers and depth are spellbinding. When I buy this for Jin it will be me getting the gift of smelling it on him.

Royal Mayfair 2024

WOW! This is a beautiful, crisp white floral that opens very green and a little tart. It’s a white floral but completely misses any soapiness or thoughts of sensuality. A clear and refreshing beauty. The cedar and ambroxan give the traditionally feminine white flowers a very unisex leaning masculine vibe. It’s like crushed up almond shells and torn camellia twigs through the heart and ends up quite fresh cut wood through dry down. This is my favourite of the three new releases for me.

Do you still get excited at a new Creed launch? What is your favourite from the brand?

    Holy cow-
Have a lot of the classic Creeds really been discontinued? I didn’t know. And I do remember the Creed craziness (I mean that in a good way) back on MUA, so that’s probably close to 20 years ago.
I have a pile of their classics-Spring Flower, Fleurissimo, Irisia, Royal Delight, Fantasia des fleurs. Result of a big sale in Montreal that I heard about on MUA. Their regular prices mean Creed didn’t fit my price point but I do treasure my collection, and recently bought a decant of Carmina. I really like it! Loved this review, Portia, and I hope you can find that fragrance for Jin-sounds like a real winner. And you’re right-fragrance is a shared pleasure so Jin will have the joy of wearing it, and you’ll have the joy of smelling it on the person you love most.

  • Neva says:

I’ve never given Creed a proper chance because of the pricing. I liked Imperial Millesime a lot, which is a beautiful citrusy cologne but the others were just “okay” and I decided I don’t need them.
Your description makes them all yummy and I’ll probably try them out but I’m worried because of the ambroxan in the drydown. Lately many fragrances feel the same in the end because of the ambrox things 🙁

Never got into Creed. I know that I did test Green Irish Tweed many years ago and wasn’t so impressed. I just think they are a little too expensive for what they are.

  • March says:

Huh, of the three Royal Mayfair sounds like I should get ahold of a sample. “Peony” for awhile there seemed to stand for whatever delicate pink musky thing they were crafting for the Asian market and never did it for me. I do think their bottles are stunning. Yeah baby Jin deserves another fabulous scent! <3

    • Portia says:

      Hey March,
Yes, I really love Royal Mayfair 2024. It’s gorgeous. I wore it again yesterday and it works beautifully out in the wilds.
They are going to have to discount the shit outta Delphinus before he gets it but it will happen.

  • Dina C. says:

The topnotes of the Eledaria sound nice — love peony. My only Creed fav is Jasmine Imperatrice Eugenie. A perfume friend sent me a sample.

    • Portia says:

      HI DinaC,
It seems Jasmine Imperatrice Eugenie has gone the way of the dodo. Bummer.
Yeah, I love peony too. They grow particularly well in South Korea and the bushes can be taller than me. There’s a particularly fine deep burgundy one near Jin’s parents place. On a misty morning the scent carries so strongly.

  • Maya says:

Creed never clicked with me. I do love the smell of peonies though and have yet to find a peony perfume that really captures them. I’d be willing to give Eladaria a try especially if it also captures the image cinnamon has conjured up!

    • Portia says:

      Hey Maya,
Yeah, Cinnamon has definitely given it a cool kids twist. This is the best representation of a real life peony I’m yet to smell in perfumery. It’s not exact, more like a dream of peony, and surrounded by other notes to make it fine fragrance. I’d love to read your thoughts if you ever get your sniff on Eladaria.

      • Maya says:

OMG no no no…wearing a pink leather jumpsuit on a motorcycle (your reply to cinnamon). I would fall down laughing! Maybe old jeans and a t-shirt on a Harley, wearing peony perfume.
Seriously though, I will try Eladaria first chance I get. a dream of peony could definitely work for me and it’s absolutely worth a try. Thanks.

  • Musette says:

Try as I might, Creed just never grabbed me by the heart. But your evocative descriptions make me want to smell all three of these!
Chicago politics is legendary for its infighting, corruption and overall heinous f*ckery( h/t Christopher Moore). In fact it’s so so commonplace that when it DOESN’T happen that it becomes newsworthy

    • Portia says:

Chicago! A beacon of bad behavior for centuries now. Also buildings! I’ve only been there the once, with you, but am wanting to come back so much. One day it would be nice to stay for a spell in the twin circular residential towers next to the river.

From those I’ve tried when I first went on this perfume adventure Virgin Island Water was the only one I enjoyed. Didn’t smell the same last April when I sniffed it.
Peony florals don’t float my boat but Delphinus I need to try at some point. I haven’t read a bad thing about it.
As a house though Creed is just so full of &?@£ it has never appealed to me

    • Portia says:

HA! Yes, Creed does quite often hit the bullshit button hard but many of their fragrances are so good.
If I’d never smelled Delphinus on Jin I’d be wanting a bottle for myself.
      Portia xx

  • cinnamon says:

Creed has never been one for me. As to the fragrances you cover I would try Eladaria just from the name, which makes me think of some uber femme wearing leather, winged eyeliner, red lips. So lovely to hear that Delphinus sings on Jin.

  • Tom says:

I don’t know why but Creed just never did it for me. I don’t dislike it, it just doesn’t grab me. Glad it’s grabbing you.

Of course if Erwin wanted to try grabbing me personally I’d be willing to give it a shot. (Such a sl@ttern so early in the AM)

  • robinw4747 says:

I’ve never been a huge fan of Creed but I do really like Carmina, I like the black cherry and top notes combined with the amber, violet and other notes. Back in the day I also really liked Tuberose Indiana but sadly it was discontinued.

    • Portia says:

      Hey RobinW4747,
Carmina is about as far from what I wish to smell like as a fragrance can get but it is so more-ish. I have a bottle and it gets sprayed quite often. So good and seems to fit a variety of moods.
