Rose by Headspace 2025 + GIVEAWAY!

Hi there Posse. My friends at Headspace, Nicolas and Enno, have just released a brand new fragrance. To celebrate, they have given me a very special giveaway. We’ll get to it further through the post. Nicolas Chabot, you’ll probably recognize the name. He’s the powerhouse owner and creative director of Le Galion, Aether and Headspace, also owner of a very historic German brand whose name I can never remember. He has a really balanced ability to oversee the creation of unbelievably graceful fragrances. Even the weird and wonderful become divinely wearable under his care. So today we are celebrating the launch in May of Rose by Headspace and I hope you’ll come along for the ride.

Rose by Headspace 2025

Rose by Headspace

Headspace gives these featured accords:
Basil, Mint, Blackcurrant Buds
Rose, Geranium, Tarragon
Vetiver, Frankincense, Benzoin

Rose opens fruit sweet and minty fresh. A green rose that is cool in both senses of the word, yet also fun. Lots of torn leaf and freshly cut stems and a fully fragrant deep red/mauve flower.

The gunpowder accord is really interesting and not at all what I was expecting. If you are hoping it will smell like fireworks or a true gun shot you will be disappointed. I had another perfume friend (Michael) over the other day and we both decided that there is a lot of pepper added to the sharp, smoky incense and oily vetiver in a very fresh look at the Geza Schoen for CdG style. It’s a gunpowder fantasy. If you start looking at it too hard it disappears, like smoke. It’s always good for me to share a scent and round out my experience with another perfumista. Michael is especially adept with parsing the adventure.

As we head towards dry down the rose has become less emphatic and I’m left with a very pretty rose amber wash that continues to softly float about my person. It’s low key and has little huffs of smoke and greenery running through to keep it all nicely interesting.

Not long ago I wrote about Myrrhe by Headspace here too.

  • Calrayo says:

My neighbor has an exquisite pale apricot rose that smells absolutely divine. It’s the loveliest soft pale blush coral. I give it a good huff every time I take my dog out for a walk!

  • Jerome Kwiatkowski says:

I love deep purple Dutch roses!

  • March says:

Also: entering on behalf of Maya, who’s having comment spam issues (she’s a regular on here, as you know.)

  • Amber says:

I adore salmon-orange colored roses! I love how the color is so different that that associated with the scent. What a generous draw! I’m especially intrigued by all the green notes, gunsmoke accord and smokey, peppery rose.

  • Maggiecat says:

How generous! I love roses of all colors, especially if they smell like actual roses. For looks, I would choose Peace roses – yellow with pink at the edges.
Thank you for bringing us the review and offer!

  • Jennifer S says:

I have a small decant of Le Galion L’Astre and ‘graceful’ is an apt description.
Deep pink roses will always catch my eye!
Thanks to the folks at Headspace!

  • Lemoncake says:

I think my favorite rose color is that pale peach that also has some pink quality to it…..perfection! Thank you for the draw!

  • March says:

Don’t enter me in the draw, obviously, but WOW! What a generous gift! Oddly, I was feeling a little rose-y this morning and put on some YSL Paris … maybe a little too much? Trying to decide if I should shower before I go to the gym!

  • Hamamelis says:

Thank you Portia and Headspace! Great question.
I just planted 3 new roses in my garden. Two of them are bred for the taste of their (lovely bright pink) petals. So once they are established and have lots of flowers I might try and make my first rose jam.
The other one is called Jam and Jerusalem, apparently after a slightly derogatory term for the Women’s institutes (?), a sitcom, and ofcourse jam and Blake’s Jerusalem. The colour is stunning, orange, salmon, pink and yellow, changing all the time.
I also love the typical rose colours, although I primarily choose roses for their scent. In that category: David Austin’s Desdemona (almonds and lemons), Queen of Denmark (a classic damask rose), another David Austin, Scepter d’Isle (bitter myrrh turning into a sweet rose scent) and Annapurna, a pure white rose with a gorgeous tea rose scent.

  • MMKinPA says:

What a lovely and generous giveaway. I am not familiar with the brand and now feel I must find some samples, maybe the discovery set. My favorite rose color is yellow. A bit surprising because I almost never wear yellow but blue is my favorite color, and I adore blue and yellow together. Yellow roses in a Delft blue vase are perfection.

  • VerbenaLuvvr says:

My favorites are blush pink cabbage roses. What a generous giveaway and thank you for the chance! I have not explored green roses at all on this fragrance journey so far.

  • Neva says:

Thanks for the generous giveaway! I love the pale pink roses that grow on fences and smell intensely of honey and tea.

  • Dina C. says:

I love a classic red red rose, but I also love a romantic pink David Austin heritage type rose. They’re both gorgeous! But they’ve gotta have scent. Those roses from the florist with no discernible scent are a big letdown. Thanks for the giveaway!

  • alityke says:

What a fabulous giveaway! Thank you to both you & Nicolas.
White roses are the ones I’m drawn to. The scent seems to be more subtle & lemony

  • Musette says:

DNEM (DagNABBIT!!!) but wow!!! This sounds amazing! AMAYYYYZING!

I don’t have as many roses as I would like ( in my absurd garden) because we are overrun by Japanese Beetles but my favorites are David Austin’s buff/ blush colors

Lyric, as you know because you can smell me over there when I wear it, is my favorite rose perfume

What a generous gesture feom Nicolas!!

  • cinnamon says:

I can’t do just one fave rose colour. Red, of course, but I like the faded colours a lot. My newest rose is a sort of sepia, like the odd pinkish newspapers you get here (it was meant to be more of a faded lilac but no matter), and I love that.

This perfume sounds interesting but I am sometimes iffy with mint and definitely with vetiver.

In any case no need to enter me in the giveaway but I wish everyone else well. A lovely gesture by the company.

  • Rich Potter says:

I like champagne roses the best.

  • Koyel says:

    Yellow 🙂

I’m lucky enough to have a TON of roses in my front and backyards. I have this shocking red rose that takes my breath away every time I see it.

But it’s the unassuming yellow bush, off to the side of the yard, that brings me the most joy. It smells sweet in this very earnest way, a way that matches the buttery softness of its color.

That said, I love all my roses. Don’t want to act like a parent picking her favorite child.

  • Eldarwen22 says:

My favorite rose red nail polish is OPI An Affair in Red Square which has been discontinued. Lyric is my favorite rose perfume and the color of the bottle suits for the rose perfume. In terms of lipstick, Ruby Woo or Russian Red is the way too go. I don’t have a favorite color for the actual rose flower though.

  • Paula says:

Maybe it’s a cliche, but my favorite rose color is red.
