Hey Posse! Things you may not know. FragranceNet (Not Affiliated) has 10ml Atelier Cologne travel sprays. Yeah, the manufacturers version. Nice hefty glass and not prone to leakage in aeroplanes. We were talking recently somewhere about how Atelier Cologne was taken from most USA stores. Maybe they all got sent to FragNet? I went looking for Bohemian Orange Blossom. Jin tried it at an airport recently and really liked it. So while shopping I grabbed Lemon Island just out of interest. It seems to be discontinued on the Atelier Cologne site.
Lemon Island by Atelier Cologne

Featured accords:
Top: Lemon
Heart: Indian Jasmine
Base: Madagascar Vanilla
Atelier Cologne are interesting. They call many of their perfumes cologne absolute. Meaningless drivel. There seems to be no consistency. Some are nuclear powered beasts and others are quiet lambs.
Jasmine and lemon open but they’re not really what they say they are. Lemon Island is a candy, a confectionery. Imagine those Strawberries and Cream lollies and substitute lemon. You can almost taste the sugar. It’s also surprisingly creamy. Like really good home made whipped cream. Not what I was expecting and definitely too warming for Sydney 38C/100f springtime. Having said that, it’s been a really enjoyable couple of days. That opening and heart of creamy lemon lollies is enough to make anyone smile.

Within an hour we hit the vanilla with hints of citrus dry down. Thankfully it’s lost quite a bit of the heft and now smells like a comparatively cheap candle. Not bad, it just doesn’t smell glamorous, transportive or elevating on me. More like a brightly coloured, mass market, $3 at the bargain store kind of candle. Yes, I know we’ve ALL used them at some point but Lemon Island isn’t $3. Funny thing, that’s what it smells like up close. From wrist length away it smells nice.
I reckon in this heat Lemon Island’s whole life is around 3-4 hours. It’s unisex and despite the up close dry down I’ll definitely use up the 10ml of my Travel Spray.
I talked about Encens Jinhae here on Posse too.
Are you an Atelier Cologne fan? Ever try Lemon Island?

Huh. You sorta had me pulled into this until the end. But you NEVER KNOW what might happen once I get on FragranceNet!
HA! It’s a fragrant money pit March.

Hi, snookums! Orange Sanguine was my only one… and eh…
This lemon one? Lol! You …tried, P. You really did… but I can smell the ‘yawwwnnn’ from over here!
HA HA HA HA HA! Fair play Musette.

I have the deluxe sample set somewhere in my sample mountain. They came in envelopes with pretty postcards. Those I tried were meh & I got bored, so many are untested.
Bummer Alityke,
The postcard idea sounds nice.
I also have so many sample sets that underwhelmed and got put aside. I think it’s part of the craving.

That’s it! Lots of the love for fragrance is in the chase. We order samples & discovery boxes, we impatiently wait, if the first couple we try don’t cut the mustard the rest go on the “maybe try later” mountain. Only when we read about something or catch a whiff of something lovely in the wild, that we know we have a sample of, do we search it out.
Yes, we are all happily unwell, craving the next eyerollingly gorgeous scent.
Oh. That is soooooo true!!!
HA! Yes it is Maya. For all of us, I think.
Orange Sanguine is the one I bought a 10 ml of. Amazing in the summer and smelled stronger when sampled at Sephora versus the 5 small samples I bought from the Atelier site which made me hesitant about its longevity.
I even got in touch with them thinking they had sent the wrong juice in the wrong vials as it was just not the same smell.
WOW JenniferS,
I wonder if they needed some air and light degradation to become the juice you love?

Lemon Island does not sound like something for me.
I did like almost all Atelier Cologne fragrances to one degree or another. They were the perfect spritz and go and the prices worked for that too. You could get a 30ml or travel spray, have fun with it and go to the next one. The 3 that I liked the most were Vanille Insensee, Cafe Tuberosa, and Mistral Patchouli. I was sad to see them go but maybe someone else will pick up the baton…as long as it’s not foody. I do not want to get chubby and have to explain it’s because my perfume made me hungry so I ate too much.
HA! Hilarious Maya.
Yes, those 10ml and 30ml made them really accessible and affordable as a shopping cart filler.

I think I tried this one back when it was available in Sephora. Ok, but didn’t buy the travel spray. I have a big bottle of Pomelo Paradis (facebook find for next to nothing) and also of Pacific Lime, which I really like. And smaller bottle and travel spray of Cafe Tuberosa which is delightfully odd. Travel spray of Iris Rebelle and deluxe discovery set, both of which are in my out box. I checked out the fragrancenet lineup – not a lot available but the Bohemian Orange Blossom sounds interesting but I’m oversubscribed on Orange blossom perfume!
How freaking weird and wonderful is Cafe Tuberosa MMKinPA?!? I drained a 10ml one holiday and when the DC notice came through panic bought a bottle. Rare but very happy wears.
Jin likes the Bohemian Orange Blossom less now he has 10ml. I’m glad I didn’t splurge on a big bottle. It’s in his gym bag now.

Hi, Portia. I have Pomelo Paradis. It is a very happy citrus scent. I wear it in the summer.
Hey Jill,
I think there might be a 4ml of Pomelo Paradis around here somewhere. A GWP from one of the big orders when sending from Europe to Australia didn’t cost a mortgage payment. I’ll look it out.

I don’t have any Atelier Cologne stuff. This sounds good for heat. And a smaller size offer always my interest. Maybe in the summer, but we’re decidedly not in the summer. Sigh.
Hey Cinnamon,
Yeah, a 10ml spray is just my size lately.
Hold on, spring is just around the corner.
