Gascoigne & King Luxury Candles: PROMO CODE!

Hi there Perfume Posse, Do any of you like to have a couple of medium price, boxed candles prewrapped so you always have beautiful gifts even if I have totally forgotten an event? I keep a couple of Gascoigne & King Luxury Candles wrapped in my wardrobe (in a plastic bag so they don’t get dusty). There are even cards ready with them in case I have to run and write them and bring the gift out as if I’d known all along. Yes, giving my game away but doing to help you all.

Gascoigne & King Luxury Candles

Gascoigne & King is an Australian brand of candles, it’s been created by my mate Bronwyn Gascoigne who is a powerhouse Mum and businesswoman. She lives in very trendy Surry Hills in Sydney in a beautiful terrace row house that has been renovated and modernised from the back of the front wall right the way to the super industrial metal back gate. Bronwyn is cool: she is fun, sunny, gorgeous, clever, easy going and astute on so many levels. Just being with her gives me a boost in energy levels and we always enjoy our time together.

Why am I telling you all this? Well the Australian $ is currently in dire straits, which is excellent news for anyone buying stuff from here and getting it sent. So I was thinking that if you’re like me and like to have some stuff on hand, or even if you LOVE having beautiful candles in your home, then what better time than now to grab a bargain AND have something totally exotic from Australia. People will be seriously wowed. I know I would be.

Aprés by Gascoigne & King Luxury Candles

Apres Gascoigne & KingGascoine & King

Featured notes include: Vanilla, tonic bean, caramel, birch tar, clove, fir needle, sandalwood, patchouli

This is the candle I am currently burning in my living room. Normally I love to burn Pear Angelys in the white jar, because I love the way the light fruity pear sits above the spicy vanilla. This time when I was with Bronwyn she gave me Aprés as a GWP because it’s been designed with one of Australia’s famous interior designers.

From the Gascoine & King site: Apres is a collaboration between Gascoigne & King, and Terri Winter, founder of the premium design store top3 by design. The  fragrance was inspired by Terri’s family skiing holidays in Germany, and sitting in front of a crackling fire relaxing after a day on the slopes.

Gascoigne & King Apres 1

Aprés is much more deep and rich than Pear Angelys, it manages to give a room a lovely warm glow. Sweet vanilla/caramel is offset by the birch/fir and clove. So the room smells welcoming and comfortable. The room smells like someone wearing a niche woodsy vanilla scent just moved to another room but their fragrance still lingers. We burn the candle till the whole top becomes liquid then we blow it out, about 20-30 minutes. That cleanses all other scents from the room and smells delicious for the rest of the evening.

Considering I get over 75 hours of burn time that’s a whole season smelling gorgeous.

There’s only one question Portia: should I buy or should I not? No, because ok, the money issue, blah, blah, blah… and YES, because unfortunately the candle I burn now and which I brought home from New Orleans to remember the time there does not smell AT ALL…except when I dip my nose into the wax, and YES because it’s a great opportunity and YES because you recommended it and certainly YES because having a tiny bit of Australia here definitely is exotic 🙂
Now to answer your question – I usually have some bath and beauty products wrapped and ready to gift. It’s the consequence of my buying on impulse when there’s a sale in L’Occitane for example. When I come home I realize I can’t use up all the products I have on stock until their expiration date so they end up as gifts for my friends.

    • Portia says:

      Hey Neva,
The first question I can’t answer for you. It’s a really good deal and the candles smell great.
I too have a ready wrapped L’Occitane set, I love their gift boxes.

Darn, darn, darn! I’m supposed to be saving money and at least 7 or 8 of these candles sound interesting to me. Dear Husband usually complains about my love of candles until the power goes out and I have enough candles lit to illuminate the entire neighborhood.

    • Hey there tatiana,
      Lovely to see you.
Yes, at least they have some “REAL” use and can be explained away as necessities. He He he

      • Tatiana says:

He he he. I managed to reduce my order to four candles. I cannot wait until their arrival. I think I’m going to have to ask my daughter to hold my credit card for me for the next two months or so. Please thank Bronwyn for her generosity. That code made it possible for me to try more. I wish her much success.

      • Tatiana says:

My candles arrived in the post today!! OMGosh!!! They are so lovely!!! Every last detail from the glass container to the packaging is perfect. I’m sitting here sniffing them right now. The scents are so divine. I feel an addiction coming on. Thanks for the heads up on these beautiful candles.

  • eldarwen22 says:

I will have to check these candles out. Do I need any more candles? Probably not but the power goes out quite often in my neck of the woods.

    • Hi there Eldarwen22,
We don’t get regular blackouts but there have been a couple since we moved into the new apartment. Overnight it has happened and I’ll wake up to the kitchen appliances flashing and my computer closed. None during waking hours but I have a stash of candles, both fragrant and functional, just in case.
