So I spent this Saturday thwarted. I woke up early to go to the bank, which is now in the valley. My accounts had lapsed from non use since they had moved but I wanted to reopen. In any case, it didn’t happen. So on the way back to our side of the hill I was starving but decided that I didn’t want Mickey D’s. Because, “Super Size Me.” I stopped at Bristol Farms, a local gourmet dump. I was thinking that it would be fresher and healthier. Nope. Powdered eggs and a vintage English muffin. Then I decided that I needed to go investigate the crème de La Mer pop up in Brentwood. Despite all the modern tech at my disposal, I couldn’t find it. I drove all over amongst the sheeple circling for a parking spot to brunch. When I am spending my valuable time like sheeple circling for a parking space to a place that I can’t find.

Sounds like my life.
Now I realize that a middle aged gay man being kept from trying free French moisturizer and force to pilot his BMW convertible back to the wilds of WeHo isn’t up there with the struggle for.. well, anything at all. But it’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
I did go back the next day and actually get within eyeballing the place. It was so stuffed with people that trying to navigate it would have been like trying to swim against a tide of migrating wildebeest. So I decided to decamp to someplace of relative calm.
CostCo.

Even I can’t eat this much pineapple.
They have Creme de la Mer if I am really needing it. And they’ll deliver. I didn’t get a bottle since it wasn’t a freebie but did get a giant shrimp cocktail. So it worked out for the best.
It’s been hot here so I have been rocking the various Alvarez Gomez scents- and I owe Alityke a permanent vote of thanks for them.
So what did you get up to over the weekend? Practically everyplace in the US was having awful to dangerous weather- si if you have some suggestions for “batteningdownthehatches” type fun, let us know in the comments.
