Smell Bent Latest Release + GIVEAWAY!!

Hey Hey POSSEEEEEE! Portia Turbo from AustralianPerfumeJunkies and super excited to be here today. Only a week away from leaving Sydney for LA to meet the POSSE in person for our SCENTSACTION Bus Tour of fragrant sniffing and mental madness. I can’t wait to get there. One of the highlights of the tour for me is meeting the uber sexy Chairman of Smell Bent, Brent Leonesio. He is doing a special Trunk Show for us, honestly I don’t know what that means, what is a Trunk Show? Will he be wearing SWIM TRUNKS?? They better have a TASER or cattle prod to keep me off him if he is because this young man is SMOKING HOT!! Don’t believe me? Check this then…

Smell Bent Latest Release

Right, now we have the drool-fest out of the way, let’s talk perfume and comics. Yes COMICS!! Brent has collaborated with Andrew Herman to produce a Comic Book. It’s a first in a very long series I hope because the story is GRIPPING!! All about the Scent Police against an underground Scent Mafia/Superhero Crew who I hope are going to save the world from scent dreck, regulations, lies, corruption and regenerate the fragrant world using naturals and aromachemicals to create AH MAY ZING scents. Well it hasn’t got that far yet but I am seriously hoping it will. Here is the cover of the initial installment, you may also get a Smell Bent Resistance Charter Member Card which is a gateway to special privileges………

Smellbent_A_frontcover

The new fragrance launched in conjunction with the Comic Book is call Sweet Tyranny. You can see why I like it, take the first Y out and you have… YAY! Sweet Tranny

Sweet Tyranny

From Smell Bent: Our first double deluxe, ultra-premium perfume. Crafted around creamy orris root and natural Indian sandalwood, two of the most beautiful ingredients available. A little bit fancier perhaps, but still quintessentially smell bent!

Featured notes: Orris root with fresh orange, incense, aged patchouli, Indian sandalwood, bourbon vanilla, vetiver and authoritarian musk

Smell Bent Sweet Tyranny

A fresh, cool citric opening wafts delicately around me as soon as I spritz, this is the most elegant of the Smell Bent offerings I’ve tried and if it was a little more sweet gourmand could easily pass as a Guerlain. As the fragrance warms on my skin the orange becomes slightly spicier and heats beautifully, I can’t pick notes out but there is a fatty, buttery, sensual something that I LOVE!! The citrus stays for a long time weaving through, peeking out unexpectedly, running away to hide again. I don’t know what orris root should smell like alone but I was expecting a more aloof scent, this is friendly and engaging and I think quite alluring. Sweet Tyranny has very moderate projection after the first hour, not skin scent but a soft focus halo of fragrance. The sandalwood/patchouli/musk are so well submerged within each other that I can’t pick them as separates but I do get some vanilla wafting up, I like this fragrance very much and could imagine gifting it to a few of my friends too, if my Mum was still alive I think this would definitely have been on the Mother’s Day list of presents this year.

Something else I like about Smell Bent is their idea that all the money should be spent on the juice and the bottle doesn’t need to be glamorous. Cool!

If you buy Sweet Tyranny 50ml for $90 you will also get the Comic Book for FREE! at the Smell Bent Site (<<<JUMP)

The Resistance Sample Pack

From Smell Bent: The Freedom Fighters. The Good Guys. The ones who always save the day. Smell as you read along! Includes 6 travels sprays of the smell bent resistance characters, complete with special edition labels featuring new artwork by illustration collaborator Andrew Herman.
Includes 4ml sprays of Mirror Ball, Werewolf Lumberjack, Short Fuse, FIZZZZZ, She-Wolf and Frankensmellie S13#310*

Smell Bent Terrorist Samples

Maybe you know Smell Bent and some of their fragrances? Here is a sampler set of a few of the most favored frags, the top of the hit parade as it were. I have all of these already except the Frankinsmellie and FIZZZZZ. I’ve been known to put Werewolf Lumberjack under a poorly reformulated vintage favourite to plump up the funk factor, it works especially well with the current Opium, Chanel No 5, Joy and Dune: and I like it with modern Femme by Rochas also. Short Fuse is a wonderful incense fragrance that lasts well on my often scent hungry skin and She Wolf is a sweet fruity musk. I have Mirror Ball somewhere but I only dimly remember that it wasn’t particularly working on my skin, not everything will.

This great sampler set is only $30 at the Smell Bent Site (<<<JUMP)

This is interesting too!

  1. Wow, as well as being super handsome, Brent wears great shirts! Love the quirky perfume names and comic book idea. I’ll choose Never never land in the 8ml oil.

  2. I like the first shirt too. Since the write up on Sweet Tyrrany is so good, and Never Never Land is taken,
I’d probably give Sweet Tyrrany a whirl at the 5ml edp roll-on

    • Sweet Tyranny is very different from their usual fun frippery, a lovely choice Elia.
      Portia xx

  3. What a great opportunity. Thank you people from Smell Bent for this awesome giveaway.
I will go with Debonair 5ml perfume oil roll-on

  4. Hey Portia!! Oooh I need to try all of these I think! I love the names and descriptions. Lol. The Prairie Nymph in the 50ml sounds delish!! Xoxo

  5. If it really smells like root beer AT ALL, then I want the 50-mL spray of Woody from the Vocabulary collection.

How is it that I’ve never even ordered a single sample from this line? I really have to check it out soon.

    • I have Woody here and forget if there’s Root Beer to my nose, maybe? Ahh you will have to grab a sample, try it and come back to tell us how it went.
      Portia xx

  6. The line sounds super interesting, and I like the lobster shirt 🙂 My choice would be the 8 mL perfume oil of Bollywood or Bust, Thanks!

    • Those shirts of Brent’s are super cute, he seems to be a dandy diva and I would LOVE to check out his wardrobe. I bet it’s bigger than mine.
      Portia xx

  7. How cool is this, Portia? DNEM, of course, but it’s so great that he’ll be part of Scentsation. It’s going to be such fun — just wish I could go (sniff, sniff). But I know you all will have a FABULOUS time!

    • Thank you for dropping by Ann, I’m too sad you’re missing Scentsation too. Maybe next time?
      Portia xx

  8. Ok, this is a line I hadn’t really looked at, but now I need to order some. I can’t decide between the Horny Little Devil and the Incensed. At the prices, I think I’m just going to need a sample set. How fun are the names!!

    • The names are quite awesome but you can tell by looking at Brent’s picture that he has thought about life and gets most of the inherent jokes, don’t you think?
      Portia xx

      • Darn you Portia, I ordered 10 samples … you are a perfume pusher, you are…. you stand on the corner and go ‘psssst, c’mere kid … c’mere …. i got some good stuff here, you just gotta give it a whiff’. And there I go, down the rabbit hole!

        xoxo!

      • and yes, i totally agree on brent, and he’s definitely drool-worthy. Have fun in LA, wish I could come!

        • Beth! I wish you could come too. Sorry about my luring you into the fragrant wormhole, this is the really great stuff, forgive yourself for your weakness.
          Portia xx

  9. I would choose the St Tropez Dispenser Apres Soleil in the 50ml spray. What fun names and nice eye candy! Thanks for the opportunity.

  10. I haven’t tried these yet – might have to get some samples! My choice would be Sunshine in the 8 mls perfume oil.

  11. How about She-Wolf in a 4 ml edt travel spray. What a fun site…would love to try all of these fragrances. Thanks for the draw.

    • Hi there Maureen,
Totally fun site and constantly changing. I like to drop in at least monthly because I find the new stuff so fun.
      Portia xx

  12. A “Trunk Show” is an event in the retail industry in which a manufacturer sends samples of its wares (and often the designer or a representative) , and the store advertises the event. Typically, in the clothing industry, customers can either buy some of the actual items, or order pieces made in her size and choice of materials. For fragrances, I assume this means the representative has samples an items for sale of its entire line to sniff and items to buy.

  13. This is a line I had never heard of before! Sounds awesome! I’d love to try an 8 ml perfume oil of One (I just love book and library scents)!

    • One does sound interesting doesn’t it Nadja Sand. I am with you, it would be good to try, and I LOVE the smell of books.
      Portia xx

  14. How could I not love Hungry Hungry Hippie!?! I think the 5ml perfume roll-on size would be perfect.

  15. I would decide on FIZZZZZ 50ml edt =)

    thanks guys

  16. Thank you for the draw! I think I would like to try Tok’yo Mamma Fizzzzz in the 4ml travel spray. Sounds interesting with the fruit and cedar.

  17. As an Iris addict I’m also going with Sweet Tyranny, but I’ll choose the 50ml edp;)

  18. I pick 50 ml of Sunshine, because that’s what it feels like outside! Gorgeous day here in New England.

    • we are sharing your gorgeous day here in Sydney, cool until you stand in the sun, but then ooooooh WARM!
      Portia xx

  19. I think I’m going to go with Walk of Shame in the 5ml roll-on. I’ve been wanting to try this line but hadn’t gotten around to it yet. And he is awfully cute. 😀

    • I didn’t know about the LA thing far enough out to scrape the money together this time.. but now that I know about it maybe I’ll be able to save up for next year if it comes around again.

      • I do hope this Scentsation works and that it becomes annual, that would be terrific Jennifer Counts. Walk of Shame sounds much more naughty than it is.
        Portia xx

  20. So… this is the face behind one of the oddest of oddities in my collection- his “Untitled #8”- which I only wear with great discretion… Never would have thought such talent came in such a pretty coffret. 😉

I choose ‘Lumberjack Wolf’ 8ml perfume oil- and if I don’t win, I’m gonna howl (and then go on a Smell bent shopping-spree anyway!

    • Hey Elaichi et Cetera,
I have Untitled #8 too, I think, and yes he is pretty as a picture, and not a Picasso either.
      Portia xx

  21. I would choose Prairie Nymph in the 4ml travel size. It’s about time someone created a comic book adventure for us perfume geeks. 😉

  22. I hail from SE Alaska (grew up surrounded by skunk cabbage) so I’m intrigued by Totem Eclipse (of the Heart) in a 4ml travel spray! Thanks for the draw — very enticing!

    • Isn’t that the best name EVAH? Totem Eclipse (of the heart) HA HA HA HA HA!
      Thanks Ginny M>
      Portia xx

  23. It’ll have to be Bollywood or Bust, in 5 ml perfume oil. Bollywood movies are so much fun, and the sandalwood and red roses combo got me very interested – after all I discovered Guerlain via Samsara. Is it real sandalwood, even if not the Mysore kind? The site is great, and the lobster shirt too… everything looks like my cup of tea. I will have to try (more than) a few from this line anyway. Have fun in LA, Portia!

    • Thanks Solanace. Bollywood movies are such fun. Though it’s annoying when you go to one in India and they don’t have subtitles.
Samsara, I have a couple of vintage minis that I bring out from time to time. MMMMMMM So lovely.
      Portia xx

  24. Brent is super-cute and really sweet too. But as Blanche Dubois said “I’ve got to be good — and keep my hands off children”

    • HA HA HA! TOM!! You are HILARIOUS!! You are no Blanch Dubois and Brent is no child, I think.
I am glad to hear he is both super cute and sweet.
      Portia xx

  25. I’ll say Mirror Ball in the 8mL oil! I like that one – it’s a close tie between that and Lady Gogo for my final pick. 🙂

  26. Sounds like Little Miss. Panda Gets Lei’d in50 ml for me. Love the name and the notes sound good

  27. Oh, Portia, what a great giveaway! I’ve not got around to trying this line but I’ve wanted to. The name I pick is one I’ve read about and just love – Tipsy Social Blah Blah. How can you not love that! Thanks for the draw and have a wonderful time in LA, I’m so jealous of you all.

    • I wish you were coming to hang out with us on the Scentsation bus tour. Next year Rosarita!!
      Portia xx

  28. These look super fun! I think I might be a St. Tropez gal — 5ml perfume oil.

  29. I’d love to give them a try – I choose Tok’yo Mama Fizzzzz 8ml perfume.

  30. I would like to try Monaco- dependent ( 50mL edt), sounds great!! Thank you for the opportunity!

  31. I am happy-go-lucky girl….The Sunshine fragrance sounds like it would be a fun & refreshing scent! I would choose it in the 50-mL spray. Thanks for the chance to win and letting us know about your line of fragrances! 🙂
    katherine Donovan

    • Hey Katherine Donovan,
Not my line of fragrances sadly but Sunshine is a great choice.
      Portia xx

  32. I would have to choose She-wolf in the 50 ml size, I’ve been thinking about this one for a while! Thanks so much for the chance.

  33. I’ve been wanting to order the Never Never Land in 50 ml for a while now so let me put that down here. It is a wonderful amber and to me smells like Ambre Russe another wonderful but more expensive amber. Thanks for the chance to enter the draw for the sample pack

    • WOW!! Really smells like Ambre Russe? I will have to check it out now.
      Portia xx

  34. I’d go for the 50 ml Mountain High. It sounds wonderful!

  35. Oh, wow, the names are just hilarious ! After careful consideration I decided on Violet Tendencies – the 50ml one (it’s spring after all, can’t have too much green). Thanks so much for the opportunity !

    • They are clever and fun aren’t they. I’d LOVE to be in on a product name brainstorming session.
      Portia xx

  36. I would love a 50ml bottle of Gilty Pleasures to celebrate Hannukah in. 😉

    See you next week!!!

    • Gilty Pleasures would be perfect for any religious based celebration. Don’t you think?
YAY!! We are going on the Bu Us!! We are going on the BUUU US!!
      Portia xx

  37. I have ordered samples from Smell Bent in the past … love “One.” I think I would pick Chile Vanilli in 50 ml EDT. I love their names! Brilliant and cheeky and the juice is lovely, too! Thank you for the draw!

  38. Musky in a 4 ml travel scent sounds just lovely. Honey is one of my favorite notes 🙂
