Hi Posse, Viktoria Minya kindly sent me her latest absolute collection samples. They arrived in an uber glamorous black card box with gold lettering. The samples aren’t spritz so I first dabbed to see how that wore before decanting into a spray. Recently I got to interview Viktoria Minya for Perfume Posse. Hedonist Absolute is the first to pique my fancy and I thought you’d like to meet it too.
Hedonist Absolute by Viktoria Minya 2019
Parfumo gives these featured accords:
Jasmine, Orange blossom, Jamaican rum, Birch, Tobacco, Vanilla
Deep, dark, rich and intoxicating. a boozy sweet concoction that is outrageously over the top in my current 40C+ heat. The opening is like an overture where you get to smell EVERYTHING before Hedonist Absolute settles down to show you its parts. An exciting entrance to a bewitching fragrance.
Rum and tobacco face off against white flowers and vanilla and all over the smoky, burnt darkness of leathery birch. We are offered the olfactory representation of a dance and a symphony. Different players take the lead and sometimes fight it out for dominance. It’s a white knuckle, cliff hanger of a ride. I’m never sure what will be the main note and then I realise that everything gets an even shot, with different hefts and nuance, right through the life of the fragrance.
The dry down is an interestingly dark leather vanilla, SO GOOD!
Hedonist Absolute is totally unisex, quite fragrant for the first couple of hours and then it softens off but not to a whisper. You will remain scented and have a beautiful village for half a day before it becomes more intimate.
Imagine a radiant white floral like Elie Saab layered with the resinous stewed fruitiness of earlier Serge Lutens. There, you kind of have Hedonist Absolute, now give it a dark, brooding menace that’s both gothic and glamorous. NOW you have it. This shit is amazing, I’m seriously wanting a bottle……..
Does this sound like your cup of tea?
