Agent Provocateur Perfumes GONE?

Hiya Posse, I was looking for a backup for one of my favourite easy reach perfumes Blue Silk by Agent Provocateur. It seems the fragrance arm of the company has gone the way of the dodo. Such a shame. Their original eponymous EdP is another all time fave, but I did buy a couple of big backup bottles a while back. Those should last well beyond my lifespan. The strange thing for me is that I thought the Agent Provocateur perfumes were much better than they needed to be and would be with us forever. Even the worst of them seemed pretty good to my untrained nose.

Agent Provocateur Perfumes GONE?

Agent Provocateur Perfumes GONE

These are the three I currently have in use.

Agent Provocateur EdP

Rose, saffron, white florals and a musky amber base. Wears so comfortably and still has some claws. It’s sexy and assertive with a softly dark underbelly.

Blue Silk

Juniper, fruits, roses & white flowers and a tonka/sandalwood base. Sharp and fizzy on open, a little bit masculine, quite herbaceous for the notes we are given. The flowers are quite radiant and the sweet, creamy base pumps out for hours.

Eau Emotionelle

Rosemary, tea, osmanthus and some tropical florals over a woody amber musk base. This is spring in a bottle. Very niche smelling and so much more tapestried than you’d be expecting from most designer perfumes.

Surender To Chance still has some available to sample if you’re feeling FOMO.

I have no proof other than the unavailability online in the Agent Provocateur stores or the discounters but it does look like we’ve see the demise of Agent Provocateur Perfumes.

huh… try as I might I can’t conjure up ANY relationship with AP, good or bad.

    I am a loser perfumista!

Musette, you are hilarious. If we made real connection with every perfume house we’d be in mighty big trouble. Sometimes we just don’t click.

I see there’s no mention of them on the website, which is sad. I did think that these were “better than they needed to be” considering they were kind of an adjunct to the main line.

I did have a little contretemps with the original when one of the newer ones came out. My BFF and I went to the store on Melrose to check it out. Both BFF and SA agreed that while the new one was nice, the original was better. To prove the point BFF hosed herself down with it. Started spraying her ample and lovely poitrine with the juice until her feet were wet.

I had to cut the day short. Couldn’t get within 15 feet of her. Just. Too. Much.

But they were adventurous scents- not trying to wimp out on the sexy by being baby powder and litchi, or fruit salad and froot loops. If they’re gone that is a bad thing.

HA! Tom, I can imagine you reeling from the over spritzed Agent Provocateur EdP. It’s a biggie.
Yeah, I’m glad to have what I do of them.

How sad! I liked the original AP enough to have a backup bottle which I swapped a few years ago. It got pushed aside for new pretties.

  • March says:

I remember trying and liking the original very much, but don’t own a bottle. And now I’m sticking my fingers in my ears and going LA LA LA LALALALALA because I am not hunting down another d/c’d scent!

I’ve only sampled the original. Loved the bottle.

Never had the chance to try these. Heavy sigh.

I owned AP EdP for a hot minute but it wore me so it went to a new home to get some love. The others I haven’t tried.
I’ve had a wee browse on UK discounters & Direct perfumes have Blue Silk. The AP UK website only carries the OG but the discounters carry all the others but Blue Silk. Good luck searching xxx

I think on this side of the earth it’s gone for good Alityke. The good news is I may have a few other perfume selections available if I run out.
