SOTD 4.9.2020

A SOTD (Scent Of The Day) thread is a really good conversation generator. The idea is you’ll chime in through the week with whatever scent you are wearing. You don’t need to be super knowledgable, have high faluting tastes or be a published author to comment. Just tell us what fragrance you’re wearing, smelling, buying etc. and how it makes you feel and/or anything else about it that tickles your fancy.

You can also comment on everyone else SOTD choices too. It’s great to tell someone how much you love their choice, ask for more info about it, the house or perfumer. There’s someone here from around the world 24/7 and Perfume Posse people love to chat. We like to keep it fragrant but there’s always room for life events and adventures too. This is our place to share how we smell, live, love, eat, work, raise kids and pets and get on with the business of living.

Perfume Posse SOTD

SOTD 4.9.2020

You probably won’t have time to write every scent, every spritz. Whenever you feel the mood take you, share your current spritz and a few things about it. Maybe you love/loathe it, want it, are excited by the notes/bottle/SA who sold it: WHATEVER! As always here at Perfume Posse, taking sides never means taking offence and everyone keeps it respectful and light, even though we can sometimes trawl the depths.

Hopefully you will come back and see if anyone has responded to your SOTD comment. Then you can reply to them, and so on.

Go To It Crew.

Postie delivered my Boyfriend roll-on and hand cream today, bought blindly with fingers crossed, and it’s a win! I get heliotrope, plum pud and muscat, very comforting, but probably only for the remaining few weeks of cool weather, might be a bit much in the heat

YAY for Boyfriend! It’s a good frag, easy wear and comfy. It will smell good in the sunshine too.

Stash Unspoken by Sarah Jessica Parker today
Such a tomboyish look at Burberry Brit Woman. Wearable and fun.
Jin and I went for Yum Cha this morning. Our favourite has now less that half the tables of normal, all spaced C19 style. Even then this normally, week day bustling restaurant was quiet.

LAZY day today. I have thoroughly enjoyed being almost immobile. Only things I did were a spot of grocery shopping, collected the mail and walked the dogs. Everything else was reading, TV, computer and eating. YAY! Good day.

I keep wanting to wear Autoportrait by Olfactive Studios.
Today in the cool rain it even picks up on that metallic dusty twang of cold water hitting eucalyptus and then cement. So gorgeous.

its like a hay/green grassy scent – quite different to my usual scents. a little woody but soft – almost has a wet grass kind of scent.

Had the most delightful steaming hot midnight bubble bath.
My bedtime scent is loads of herbal cologne Paris-Biarritz by CHANEL. It’s so pretty and bright, love the flask style bottle too.

It’s from 1990. Honestly I can’t pick apart the notes. To my nose it’s spicy, sweet, woody…civet is listed as a note. Hard for me to describe. Seems more like an 80s fragrance.

Finishing a decant of this! Happily, I have a second one. Has it ever been in a 40 ml? Just can’t see getting one of those huge bottles.

I’m wearing Ineke Poet’s Jasmine today, but splurged on the new flanker for Coco Mademoiselle, Eau de Privee, earlier this week after an evil Nordstrom SA mailed me a sample. It’s warm, lovely, and elegant, perfect for coolers days but that won’t stop me from wearing it on warmer ones! Waiting anxiously for its arrival…

Why does autocorrect keep changing the name??? That’s Rituale….and the hubs likes this one….and he rarely hands out positive comments.

I’m very restless today (like the weather!) and I keep trying things on…. so far it’s been Chanel No. 19 Poudre and when it faded, as it does, I spritzed on some Isabey Tendre Nuit which was due to your review, Portia, and thanks again for that, one of my happiest blind buys this year.

Cristalle eau Verte today, a summer favorite, since summer is still going strong here in Virginia.

That sounds like the perfect choice. It’s cooler here today in Maryland, and is supposed to be even cooler and sunny tomorrow, and I am READY for fall.

I’m going to wear Verveine by Fragonard again today, humidity has been high. Hard week as we lost our 15 year old beagle. The house seems empty without him trailing me or snoring at my feet.

Oh, I am SO sorry. I have a 15 year old poodle (15ish, she was a rescue so we don’t really know) and she’s the light of my life, and I will be gutted to lose her.

So sorry to hear about the loss of your furry family member! We share a love for Fragonard’s Verveine – it’s the perfect scent in the heat of summer and takes the edge of stuffy winter days as well.

It’s grey and humid here — warm but not hugely so. Wanted something that would work in that context. FM Le Parfum de Therese is doing very well, thank you.

A new one for me today – Zasmin by Michelle Bianchi. A beautifully soft and lasting elegant fragrance which improved as the day wore on. Blind buy this week during lockdown. Was dubious with the very bland packaging when it arrived but – wow! Anyone else tried this?

I have not tried it, but it’s wonderful when blind buys work out! Some of mine …. have not. But it’s #worththerisk

No that’s the name. I believe the perfume house is Lieber. It’s the one that makes Undina’s holy grail lavender.

Lots of classics on here today — Chanel, Guerlain — I wonder if our shift to fall (even if it’s just in our minds) is prompting that…

Citrus! Arquiste L’Etrog Acqua to bed as the top notes (citron, lemon, bergamot) as I fall asleep and dry down (lavender and cedar) when I wake up are my favourite parts. For the day, Tom Ford Venetian Bergamot which doesn’t always get a lot of love but smells great on me. Lots of bergamot at first with a loooong dry down of ylang ylang and cedar. ?

Bergamot by Commodity earlier today because it’s been so hot and smoky in Northern California
