CHANEL Jersey from the Les Exclusifs

Heya Posse, A girlfriend recently asked for a decant of CHANEL Jersey EdT. I’ll be honest, it doesn’t get a LOT of wear around here. Most of my 200ml has gone is decants and an early split. I think there might be some evaporation too. When I think lavender I will usually hit Caron Pour un Homme, Vero’s Kiki, Hermessence Brin de Reglisse or JPG Le Male. If I’m going to the CHANEL Les Exclusifs box it’s mostly for BOY or No 18. So it’s nice to have it back out and give it a few sprites before putting away in the box again.

CHANEL Jersey from the Les Exclusifs

CHANEL gives these featured accords:
Lavender, Bourbon vanilla, white musk.

Before we go any further I need to remind you I’m wearing the EdT, currently CHANEL Jersey comes in EdP and extrait (but be warned there are rumblings of the CHANEL extraits being discontinued soon)

Lavender and soft vanilla with some fruity underpinnings are my first impression. CHANEL has taken an old trope, smoothed all the edges, whispered it and then buffed the whole perfection to a high shine. A perfect spring fragrance that is both unusual enough to keep you interested and low key enough to wear anywhere. I’m wearing it right now on a sunny crisp autumn day and it also fits here perfectly, the fragrant coolness mirroring the dappled shade in the park.

Actual fragrant longevity is moderate to low, or maybe I become anosmic to CHANEL Jersey. After a couple of hours all I smell is the softest wash of something something laundry. That whisper does linger but you have to be REALLY close to know it’s there. Nose to arm close. It is unisex and very calming. I particularly having the big bottle so I can spritz with joyful abandon.

CHANEL Jersey is lovely, understated and refined. Have you tried it?

I never warmed to Jersey and I don’t know why; it’s certainly interesting enough while also being very wearable. I have Jicky to scratch that itch … it does sound perfect on a fall day though!

I prefer Jicky to Jersey.
Jersey is all waxed & oiled. Jicky still has a bit more hairy chested roughness to it, it’s the roughness that makes it interesting to me

Actually I think my preferred of all the lavender/vanilla family is SL Fourreau Noir. A little more groomed than Jicky but not as glossily perfect as Jersey

Much richer than either of the Js, it’s Uncle Serge after all.

I like Jersey and have been debating a full bottle. I first thought it was pretty basic but kept reaching for it. I sprayed it on my pillow once when I was in a hotel for a conference and absolutely loved waking up to it.

Not consistently. I have one from Fragonard, but mostly I use lavender in body products. Still, Jersey goes beyond simple lavender, and it’s so pretty -maybe it’s time to consider a bottle!

I haven’t tried this one but I think Chanel in general just isn’t the house for me. Just a little too refined.

I am the refined. But I want to be the wild and crazy. So I let that out in scent.

I got a sample of this when it first came out, and while I liked it, I wasn’t wowed by it. I don’t think lavender ever wows me actually. But I agree that it’s easy to wear and inoffensive.

I did review Jersey a few years ago and had thought of it as Chanel trying to make a dupe of Jicky. I do love quite a few of Chanel offerings. I do wonder which Chanel extraits are being discontinued. Is it all of them? It would be foolish to discontinue no 5 in extrait form. If the larger extrait bottles are being discontinues, I would understand. Unless people have an extra $1,000 every month, I could understand the larger sizes no longer being in production. Who has over $300 every month to spend on a half an ounce of extrait? I could get an Amouage or 2 on Fragrancenet for that price.

The Coromandel extrait is fabulous. Snapped up a bottle a couple years ago and no regrets. No 22 extrait would be a wise move too.

Chanel is my favorite perfume house, I appreciate the review of Jersey. I had a mini and enjoyed it; however, lavender is not my favorite note and therefore, not full bottle worthy for me. I appreciate your association with a crisp autumn day. I’m sad to hear that the extraits will be discontinued? I am not coveting Comete, have you sampled?

I am not big on lavender-vanilla. I do think I’ve tried it though and likely dismissed. I guess the extraits just cost too much and most people just buy EdTs and EdPs? Nice you can provide decants and enable others…

I love Jersey. I find it very calming. Nice to wear when you want something easy and don’t want to make a statement.
