My fabulous Posse! I was going to start this Musing by complaining about the extreme heat… but it’s GAWN! From temps that were flirting with triple digits, it’s now a very manageable 70s-80! and I am NOT mad at it! I’m not a fan of AC, though I’m grateful for it on those absurdly hot nights… but overall, give me a couple of fans and I’m good to go! Last night it was 58F! and I even pulled up the comforter!!! O, happy days! Reminds me of tropics like Jamaica and BVI, with sunny, hot days and cool nights. This morning it was so cool that I was able to turn on the oven, to make cookies for the two guys who do lots of Guy Things for me (I am NOT lifting Big Al off his tray for anything! I think he might weigh more than I do!)

So. That my first musing. Some others:
Men. Having non-Manly Man fun. I don’t think there’s anything more charming than watching a man just kinda not worry about Being Manly, even for a few moments. Case: last weekend was our town festival and the whole downtown street (yesh. It’s a street. Don’t judge 😉 was closed off for Family Fun. Bouncy Castle, etc… and the sidewalk had lots of chalk drawings that were interactive. I was at the gym on Monday and across the street was a work truck parked with two Really Manly (huntin/shootin/fishing types) Men coming out of the bowling alley after lunch. Suddenly… one of the RMMen started bobbing up and down… ‘huh’… then I see arms flailing… OMG! He was playing hopscotch! And his Other RMMan joined in! The sight of these two burly, bearded guys, just having a fun time for a hot minute, not showing off or being ironic… just being….. it was delightful! I wish it was easier for people to just…be. Maybe we should draw more hopscotch games on the sidewalk!!!
Indulgence: yes. Paris is an indulgence, but it’s one I cannot afford at this present time. And I don’t really need any more Stuffs. What I need? To take time to sit on my porch and Soak My Feet! You know… soaking your feet is one of those things that forces you to just Relax for a bit. You can’t dash about if your feet are soaking in a basin. Epsom salts, a bit of essential oil. Twenty minutes to just indulge. And at the end I feel lighter and more centered. And every time I do it (which is not often enough) I think “why don’t I do this more often?”. Why don’t I? Do you?
(Vaguely) perfume-related: March’s post last week on Naomi Goodsir had me thinking about Spa scents – I’ll write more in depth about this but for right now… I do love spa scents in my home. That vegetal, good-for-your-soul smell, tinged with a (possibly imagined) chlorine tang ( we may be woo-wooing our little hearts out but ain’t nobody going into a hot tub without a bit of chlorine in it – this nobody ain’t, at any rate). I lack both a hot tub AND a pool, so I’m going with ‘imagined’. Reading March’s review of In the Woods, I realized that I love it in my home… but not on my bod. Hmmm… more on that later.
Ditto Bombay Bling. I did try it in the extreme heat. Stay tuned.
So… what’s going on in your world? I’m pleased to say that this post pretty much sums up my current existence. And for that, I am profoundly grateful. Ain’t needing to live in Times any more interesting than that!
xoxo

We had it kind of hot here as well. Pushing 90° and above. I’ve actually spent most of the weekend either sitting by the pool with my tootsies in the water or sitting in the living room watching reruns of “Falcon Crest” on Prime.
I do love a good foot soak.
